Topic:  Topic: Some researchers believe that all children need to learn a musical instrument as part of their education. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

There are many researchers who are of the opinion that learning to play a musical instrument must be included in the school curriculum. I agree with this statement because it is very relaxing and it will help them to concentrate more.

To initiate, nowadays, students´ lives are very hard because of competition. They have a lot to study along with mandatory extracurricular activities like learning computer programming at a very young age or some sports for some physical exercise. Hence, very few of them have time to learn a musical instrument on their own. For this reason, just like schools have a compulsory sports or art period, they should also include a music period where children are taught how to play a musical instrument. This will help them relieve their stress. For example: learning to play the drums is a very good way for a child to remove his/her frustrations and feel relaxed.

Secondly, some students are hyper-active. They are unable to focus on one thing for long. At times, this affects their studies because they are not able to concentrate. Further, such children are more interested only in playing, not much in studies. If schools include a music period as a part of their curriculum, then the extra energies of such hyper-active children can be channelized into learning how to play a musical instrument. For example: instruments like the guitar or violin require a lot of focus. Children enjoy it when they are able to play their favorite tunes on these instruments. This in turn will help them improve their concentration in their studies.

To recapitulate, I feel it is very beneficial for schools to teach children to play musical instruments as a part of their curriculum, and especially start at an early age, to ensure over all development of the child. (302 words).
